Causes: Achilles Tendonitis is a debilitating foot condition characterized by swelling of the Achilles tendon – the largest and strongest tendon in the body – more commonly know as t he ‘heel cord.’ Athletes are especially prone to chronic Achilles Tendonitis. In fact, around 18% of serious runners experience it in their life. Symptoms: Achilles Tendinitis does not happen overnight, and usually does not manifest itself right away. Pain is usually mild at first, but it worsens with continued activity.
